The “Doomsday Clock” just moved to 85 seconds to midnight. One reason is not weapons. It’s disinformation at scale. Technology is now amplifying false confidence and false narratives faster than people can correct them.
At the same time, people are buying Mac Minis to run personal AI bots locally. Private. Offline. Outside organisational control.
And this week, a fake AI coding assistant was caught spreading malware. It looked helpful. It sounded legitimate. It was trusted because it was “AI”.
This is the environment we’re in.
Our crew cybersecurity awareness training (CyTraining) module this month focuses on AI safety and security. Crew results to date have shown that:
• XX%+ are not using AI onboard (yet).
• Where AI is used, it’s mostly for.
